The Why And The How

A friend’s father passed away. A group text was sent and 10 of us each contributed. The woman who was organizing bought $750 in flowers. That is the last thing the family needed. Another friend’s husband tragically died and she was sent into a tailspin trying to coordinate all of the planning in a space she knew little about. MyCondolences was born.

The funeral planning process is completely confusing and arduous at a time where the loved ones should be spending time with family and friends. We spoke to thousands of people to curate the most complete list of tasks with trusted resources.

The long-term vision is to build a platform that allows friends and family of the loved one to provide funds for services and items most needed. Examples could be to help pay for childcare, medical expenses, a headstone, to send meals, flights for family members, to plant trees in memory and to assist if the person was the sole provider.

MyCondolences does take a nominal transaction fee to cover credit card, partnerships, etc. Safe and secure fundraising is the top priority to accept and deliver your donations. The transaction fee is automatically deducted from each donation. It covers the costs of credit and debit charges, safely delivering donations.
